22 big del Circo nella Giuria Tecnica Internazionale della 27^ edizione

Stelle del Circo non solo in pista ma anche nella prestigiosa Giuria Tecnica Internazionale chiamata ad assegnare gli ambiti Latina d’Oro, Latina d’Argento, Latina di Bronzo. Sono 22 i big del Circo che costituiranno la Giuria Tecnica Internazionale del Festival: essa sarà composta dai titolari o dai responsabili dei più importanti circhi o accademie di Circo del mondo nonché da personalità di chiara fama nel panorama dell’imprenditorialità, dell’arte o delle politiche ascrivibili al mondo del Circo. La Giuria Tecnica Internazionale è chiamata a visionare tutti i numeri in competizione e ad esprimere una valutazione che tenga conto dei seguenti parametri: originalità della performance, coreografia, qualità tecnica e grado di difficoltà.

Di seguito la composizione della Giuria Tecnica Internazionale della 27^ edizione dell’International Circus Festival of Italy, in ordine alfabetico per cognome.

Katya Arata Quiroga, settima generazione artistica della sua celebre famiglia circense, è figlia del leggendario equilibrista italiano Vittorio Arata e di Ingrid Osmani-Kaiser, acrobata e giocoliere della nota dinastia circense dei Paesi Bassi. Cresciuta ad Amsterdam, Katya ha studiato sia Danza classica che pianoforte presso il Royal Conservatory for Ballet and Music a L’Aia. La carriera artistica di Katya è costellata di grandi successi che l’hanno portata a conquistare il Clown d’Oro in occasione della 28^ edizione del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo con lo straordinario numero di volanti dei Flying Tabares. Nel 2005 Katya e suo marito Nelson Quiroga hanno rilevato il Circo Vargas. Da allora, Katya e Nelson lavorano per realizzare spettacoli inediti, sorprendenti e di altissimo profilo tecnico.

Nata a Parigi, Odette Bouglione è membro di una storica famiglia del Circo francese. Ha trascorso la sua infanzia presso il celeberrimo Cirque d’Hiver. Dall’età di 16 anni è presente come artista sulla scena internazionale essendosi esibita in varie discipline. Odette ha al suo attivo una tournée mondiale ventennale con il Circo Florilegio di Darix Togni. Dal 2006 è rientrata stabilmente a Parigi dove, con i suoi fratelli e le sue sorelle, si è occupata della direzione artistica del Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione e di altre produzioni a carico della sua famiglia. Odette Bouglione è Direttrice generale dello storico Circo francese.

Jean-Jacques Clérico è Presidente e proprietario del celeberrimo Moulin Rouge che presto celebrerà i 140 anni di attività. La famiglia Clérico gestisce brillantemente questo luogo leggendario dal 1956. Il Moulin Rouge non è solo il più famoso cabaret del mondo ma una sorta di patrimonio vivente, un brand francese noto a chiunque. Il Moulin Rouge stupisce quotidianamente il suo pubblico internazionale con oltre 60 artisti sul palco, 1000 costumi di piume e strass, scenografie grandiose ma soprattutto con il famoso ed iconico Cancan francese. Sono oltre 600.000 gli spettatori che ogni anno assistono agli spettacoli del Moulin Rouge.

Madre inglese, padre ungherese, Sandor Donnert fino al 2016 ha lavorato come artista, in particolare come giocoliere a cavallo. Nel 2015 avviò la Donnert Agency, Agenzia di Spettacolo capace di selezionare e scritturare artisti per tutte le discipline dello spettacolo circense per show ed eventi in tutto il mondo. Nel 2018 Sandor e la sua famiglia hanno inaugurato in Olanda la loro più recente avventura circense intitolata The magical world of Circus. Da allora Sandor è anche produttore del Circo di Natale de L’Aia in Olanda e co-produttore del Circo di Natale di Aquisgrana in Germania.

Dopo essersi laureato nelle discipline delle arti sceniche, ed aver incrementato la propria passione per il Circo dirigendo il Moscow Circus, Peter Dubinsky ha fondato la Firebird Productions Inc. della quale a tutt’oggi è Presidente. In tali vesti organizza e produce spettacoli dal vivo di altissimo profilo sia per i parchi tematici del Nord America, sia in ambito più strettamente circense. Le competenze maturate e la qualità degli spettacoli prodotti hanno fatto meritare a Peter Dubinsky i più importanti premi e riconoscimenti in molti Paesi del mondo.

Settima generazione artistica di una nota famiglia circense ungherese, Susy Eötvös fin da giovane si è esibita sia come giocoliere che come acrobata aerea. Per molti anni Susy si è occupata con la sua famiglia del complesso circense Eötvös Cirkusz. Da sei anni è responsabile delle relazioni con l’estero per il Circo di Stato di Budapest Fövarosi Nagycirkusz. Ai nostri uffici Susy ha dichiarato: “ho l’Italia nel cuore, sono nata in Toscana ed in Italia ho trascorso la mia infanzia e adolescenza. La mia vita oggi? Il Circo!”.

Alain Frère, già insignito delle massime decorazioni per meriti culturali sia nella Repubblica Francese che nel Principato di Monaco, è Medico di Medicina generale nonché vice-Sindaco della città di Tourrette-Levens in Francia, città che ha governato ininterrottamente come primo cittadino dal 1983 per 37 anni. Grande appassionato del Circo, nel 1974 prese a collaborare con il Principe Ranieri III per la creazione del primo Festival del Circo al mondo, il celeberrimo Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo all’interno del cui Comitato Organizzatore, a tutt’oggi, è consulente artistico di S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie di Monaco. Il Dott. Alain Frère a Tourrette-Levens è proprietario di un Museo privato che ospita la preziosa collezione di costumi di scena di alcuni fra i più celebri artisti della storia del Circo.

Renato Fuentes rappresenta la terza generazione artistica della sua famiglia di artisti circensi. Apprezzato artista, Renato ha calcato la pista del Circo come esilarante Clown. Successivamente ha intrapreso l’attività di imprenditore nel settore del Circo e dei parchi divertimento creando il marchio Los Valentinos attualmente presente con successo in Messico, Colombia e Venezuela. Con suo fratello Valentino, Renato Fuentes dirige uno dei circhi più importanti del Sud America.

Raul Gasca è membro di spicco di una delle famiglie del Circo più emblematiche in America: i Fuentes Gasca ad oggi sono alla guida di una fra le più grandi catene di Circhi al mondo. Artista versatile e poliedrico, Raul ha calcato la pista fin dalla più tenera età come accade spesso nelle famiglie di artisti circensi praticando quasi tutte le discipline. Il suo ashtag #EPOINONDITECHENONVIAVEVOAVVISATO lo ha reso popolare presso il pubblico.

Sergii Kabakov è attivo nel panorama circense internazionale fin dal 1987. Attualmente ricopre la carica di Direttore Generale e Direttore artistico della Compagnia del Circo di Stato dell’Ucraina. È Presidente del Board of Directors delle imprese circensi statali dell’Ucraina. Nel suo Paese è stato insignito della menzione d’onore per l’impegno profuso negli anni a sostegno della tradizione e della cultura circense.

Settima generazione artistica della sua famiglia, Sascha Köllner dice di sé di portare il Circo nel cuore e nel sangue. Appassionato alla pista fin dalla tenera età, Sascha per molti anni si è esibito in tutta Europa come acrobata ed addestratore di cavalli: note le sue competenze nel dressage. Attualmente, in collaborazione con i suoi fratelli, dirige il Circo di Natale della città di Dresda, in Sassonia. Il suo talento ed il suo ingegno creativo, tesi a preservare la tradizione del Circo europeo, si rivelano agli spettatori in occasione di ogni spettacolo che rechi la sua firma.

Elmar Kretz, da sempre appassionato di cavalli, è cresciuto in Baviera dove dapprima intraprese esperienze nel settore alberghiero e della ristorazione sulle orme della sua famiglia. La visita di un grande Circo tedesco nella sua città segnò il punto di svolta nella vita di Elmar che da allora ne rimase totalmente attratto. Al suo debutto artistico nel 2001, Elmar Kretz ha lavorato per importanti complessi circensi. Ad oggi è Direttore del Ravensburger Christmas Circus, che Elmar fondò quando era appena ventinovenne: si tratta di uno degli spettacoli natalizi più apprezzati in Germania con 850.000 spettatori al suo attivo. In occasione della scorsa edizione dell’International Circus Festival of Italy, con il suo numero di cavalli in libertà, Elmar Kretz interagì amichevolmente con stalloni arabi, andalusi e lipizzani in una performance tecnicamente ineccepibile e di grande impatto per il pubblico di ogni età.

Agustín Maluenda Quezada, artista, regista e clown di professione, ha alle spalle 58 anni di carriera nello spettacolo: una vera Star in Sud America. È l’unico clown ad aver conseguito il Copihue d’Oro, massimo riconoscimento artistico assegnato annualmente in Cile. Tuttora attivo presso il Circo di Pastelito de Chile, suo figlio, e di Pastelito Jr, suo nipote, Agustín Maluenda Quezada è per tutti il clown Tachuela Chico: in tali vesti si esibì con suo fratello Joaquín nel 2004 per il Santo Padre Giovanni Paolo II. La sua popolarità, tuttavia, è da ricondursi anche ai numerosi programmi televisivi cui ha partecipato. Agustín Maluenda Quezada da alcuni anni partecipa in tutto il mondo ai lavori delle Giurie Tecniche Internazionali dei più importanti eventi di ambito circense.

Fulvio Medini, membro di una famiglia storica del Circo italiano, con i suoi fratelli Daniele e Bruno, è Direttore e Produttore del Circo Internazionale Happy Circus, uno degli spettacoli itineranti più amati in Italia. Sotto il grande chapiteau dell’Happy Circus prende vita una combinazione perfetta tra la radicata tradizione circense e l’innovazione moderna. Il cast vanta la presenza di artisti di fama internazionale già premiati a Latina. Le performance uniscono l’allegria dei clown con lo stupore generato da complessi numeri di giocoleria, acrobati e illusionisti. Fulvio, Daniele e Bruno Medini mettono al centro dell’esperienza l’accoglienza, puntando sul sorriso dei più piccoli. Ruan Min è un esperto internazionale di arti circensi, spettacolo dal vivo e progettazione culturale, con una consolidata esperienza nella pianificazione, produzione e gestione di festival, spettacoli e grandi eventi. Ha ricoperto ruoli manageriali nell’ambito dell’entertainment e ha partecipato come giurato ed esperto ad importanti festival e competizioni circensi internazionali. È membro del Comitato per gli Scambi Internazionali della China Acrobats Association e ha preso parte a forum e iniziative dedicate allo sviluppo e alla cooperazione internazionale nel settore delle arti circensi. Nel corso della sua carriera ha contribuito alla realizzazione di oltre 20 grandi eventi culturali tematici e più di 30 progetti di diversa tipologia, maturando una significativa esperienza nella gestione di progetti, nel coordinamento artistico e nello sviluppo internazionale dello spettacolo.

Irina Naumenko ha lavorato come artista nell’Industria dell’Intrattenimento per oltre 25 anni: nel corso della sua lunga carriera come performer, Irina ha potuto ampliare i propri orizzonti attraverso la conoscenza diretta di numerosissime compagnie in tutto il mondo, fino ad approdare al Cirque du Soleil, dove ha lavorato come verticalista e contorsionista nelle produzioni Varekai 2003-2011, Joya 2014-2016 ed altri eventi speciali. Dopo una carriera di successo come artista circense, Irina è passata al ruolo di consulente nel dipartimento casting del Cirque du Soleil. Lo spettacolo, in particolare l’arte circense, occupa da sempre un posto speciale nel cuore di Irina che negli anni ha maturato una profonda conoscenza del business, del processo creativo degli spettacoli e delle performance acrobatiche; questo le consente di comprendere profondamente ogni difficoltà del lavoro quotidiano degli artisti circensi con i quali condivide la visione e le prospettive.

Erdene Nergui è una figura centrale del panorama circense internazionale, noto soprattutto come Presidente della Mongolian Circus Production. Rinomato produttore e direttore artistico, Erdene Nergui promuove le eccellenze del Circo mongolo attraverso la celebre Erdene Nergui Troupe, specializzata in discipline acrobatiche e nel contorsionismo. I suoi spettacoli calcano gli stage più prestigiosi in tutto il mondo. Agli 85 anni di Storia del Circo mongolo, Erdene Nergui ha fatto corrispondere lo scorso Aprile ad Ulan Bator il debutto della nuova produzione del World Circus of Mongolia in un rinnovatissimo Circo stabile e con un cast di assoluto prestigio sia in pista che tutto attorno.

Adans Peres, con suo fratello Ivan, ha conquistato i più prestigiosi riconoscimenti in ambito internazionale coniugando importanti doti atletiche con uno straordinario talento artistico: celeberrimo il numero di mano a mano con il quale il Duo Peres onorò la pista del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Latina nel 2010 per poi aggiudicarsi l’ambitissimo Clown d’Argento al Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo. Come Manager ed imprenditore, Adans ha fondato la nota agenzia Starlight Productions & Show Business, oggi punto di riferimento indiscusso per i migliori artisti circensi al mondo nonché Gold Partner della recente 24^ edizione dell’International Circus Festival of Italy.

Nato in Svizzera nel 1941, Urs Pilz completati gli studi superiori, ha iniziato la carriera nel mondo della moda fino ad occupare la carica di Vice-Presidente del marchio Bogner. Da sempre vicino al mondo del Circo, Urs Pilz ha collaborato con il Circo Knie, ha curato le relazioni internazionali del Circo Krone a Monaco, e dal 1981 ha intrapreso la sua importantissima collaborazione con il Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo: dapprima come giurato, poi come coordinatore della Giuria fino ad assumere la carica di Direttore Artistico e di Vice-Presidente, ruolo che lo vede tra i più stretti collaboratori di S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie di Monaco. Ricopre inoltre la carica di Presidente delle due massime Associazioni di categoria: la Fédération Mondiale du Cirque e la European Circus Association.

Louisa Raluy Rastall, nata in Italia, ha origini per metà inglesi e per metà spagnole. Rappresenta la quarta generazione artistica di una celeberrima famiglia circense. Insignito di uno speciale riconoscimento per i suoi 100 anni di storia, The Legacy, diretto dalle sorelle Louisa e Kerry Raluy Rastall, è considerato uno dei principali circhi al mondo. Il suo impegno nel mantenere l’essenza dell’epoca d’oro del Circo che viene tuttora rappresentata insieme alle ultime tendenze di spettacolo, lo rendono un Circo originale, un punto di riferimento sulla scena internazionale. L’esperienza del Raluy Legacy non si esaurisce con lo spettacolo: il fascino fornito dagli oltre 40 carri d’epoca lo ha trasformato in uno dei circhi museali più importanti al mondo, un viaggio tra storia e innovazione. Louisa Raluy ha lavorato in tutto il mondo, ha diretto un Festival in Spagna, è stata più volte membro delle Giurie Tecniche internazionali, parla correntemente ben otto lingue ed ha completato la sua formazione con studi di ambito psicologico e del giornalismo.

Frederico Reder è un artista, imprenditore e regista di fama internazionale. Ha iniziato la sua carriera come attore teatrale all’età di 9 anni e in seguito si è distinto come manager, regista, imprenditore e, nel 2016, come creatore del genere Doc Musical, un format innovativo che unisce Teatro e narrazione audiovisiva. Fondatore del pluripremiato Reder Circus, un punto di riferimento nazionale che ha conquistato il pubblico con stagioni di successo e premi come il Picadeiro e il Governor’s Award, Reder ha anche raggiunto il traguardo di gestire 6 Teatri e 4 Circhi contemporaneamente in tutto il Paese. È stato giudice per il LIESA al Carnevale di Rio e fa parte della Giuria di importanti Festival circensi negli Stati Uniti, in Italia, Spagna, Perù, Argentina e Cile.

Aldo Vazquez, cresciuto nell’ambiente del Circo, ha maturato esperienze trasversali in ogni ambito della logistica e della produzione di spettacoli circensi. Attualmente a capo di un team di oltre 70 persone, Aldo è stato artista per circa trenta anni sia come acrobata che come addestratore. Ad oggi è Direttore di due unità: il Circo Vazquez USA ed il Circo FLIP USA. In entrambe le strutture ha in carico tanto gli aspetti tecnico - logistici quanto quelli riconducibili alla Direzione artistica.

The Festival is full of Circus stars in the International Technical Jury as well as featuring stars performing in the ring. This distinguished Jury will be deciding who wins the Gold (Latina d’Oro), Silver (Latina d’Argento), and Bronze (Latina di Bronzo) awards. The International Technical Jury of the Festival is formed of 22 Circus luminaries: people who are owners or directors of the most important circuses or Circus academies around the world, as well as people working in the business, artistic or political spheres connected to the world of the Circus. This international Jury has the task of watching all the competing numbers and voting on them, taking into consideration the following criteria: originality of the performance, choreography, technical skill, and level of difficulty.

Below are the names of the International Technical Jury for the 27th edition of the International Circus Festival of Italy, in alphabetical order by surname.

Katya Arata Quiroga, is a seventh-generation artist of her celebrated circus family, daughter of legendary Italian tightwire performer Vittorio Arata and Ingrid Osmani-Kaiser, an acrobat and juggler from a famous circus dynasty of The Netherlands. Brought up in Amsterdam, Katya studied classical ballet and piano at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Katy’s successful artistic career culminated in a Clown d’Or at the 28th edition of the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo with a sensational flying trapeze number with the Flying Tabares. In 2005 Katya Arata and her husband, Nelson Quiroga, took over Circus Vargas, and since then they have worked on producing unique and spectacular shows of a high technical level.

Born in Paris, Odette Bouglione is a member of an eminent Circus family, and spent her childhood in the celebrated Cirque d’Hiver. From the age of 16 she worked internationally as a performer in a variety of disciplines, and travelled the world over a period of twenty years with the Circo Florilegio of Darix Togni. Since 2006 Odette has been back in Paris where, with her brothers and sisters, she is involved in the artistic direction of the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione and of other family productions. Odette Bouglione is the General Director of this historical French Circus company.

Jean-Jacques Clérico is President and owner of the world famous Moulin Rouge, which this year celebrates its 140th anniversary. The Clérico family has been brilliantly running this legendary establishment since 1956. The Moulin Rouge isn’t just the most famous cabaret club in the world; it is also living heritage, a universally-known French brand. Welcoming 600.000 spectators every year, the Moulin Rouge amazes its international audiences with over 60 artistes on stage, 1000 feather and rhinestone costumes, grandiose sets and the famous and unique French Cancan.

With an English mother and a Hungarian father, Sandor Donnert worked as a performer until 2016, in particular as a juggler on horseback. In 2015 he started a new venture, the Donnert Agency, and began working as an agent and talent scout for performers in various Circus disciplines for shows and events around the world. In 2018 Sandor and his family launched their most recent Circus adventure in the Netherlands, The Magical World of Circus. Since then he has also produced the Christmas Circus of The Hague, also in the Netherlands, and is co-producer of the Aachen Weihnachtscircus in Germany.

Following a Degree in scenic arts and a Directorship of the Moscow Circus, which inspired in him a strong interest in Circus arts, Peter Dubinsky founded Firebird Productions Inc., of which he is still President. In this capacity he produces high-profile live shows for North-American Theme Parks as well as more traditional Circus shows. Experience and know-how in his chosen field have earned Peter Dubinsky worldwide recognition as well as many important and prestigious international awards.

A seventh-generation performer from a renowned Hungarian circus family, Susy Eötvös has performed as both a juggler and an aerial acrobat since her youth. For many years, she worked alongside her family at the Eötvös Cirkusz. For the past six years, she has served as the international relations manager for the Budapest State Circus (Fővárosi Nagycirkusz). Speaking to our office, Susy said: “Italy holds a special place in my heart; I was born in Tuscany and spent my childhood and adolescence there. My life today? The Circus!”

Alain Frère, decorated by both the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco for his cultural undertakings, is a Medical Doctor. He is also currently the Vice-Mayor of the city of Tourrette-Levens in France; previously he was the Mayor of the same city from 1983, and held the role for 37 years. A huge Circus fan, in 1974 he contributed, alongside His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III, towards the founding of the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, of which he is still Artistic Advisor within the organizing committee and for Her Serene Highness Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. Dr. Alain Frère is also the owner of a renowned museum in Tourrette-Levens which contains a valuable private collection of stage costumes worn by some of the most celebrated performers in the history of the Circus.

Renato Fuentes represents the third artistic generation of his circus family. A seasoned entertainer, Renato performed as an exuberant clown. He subsequently moved into production and became an entrepreneur in the Circus field and in Theme Parks, creating the Los Valentinos brand, which successfully operates in Mexico, Colombia, and Venezuela. Along with his brother, Valentino, he is director of one of South America’s most important circuses.

Raul Gasca is a prominent member of one of the most iconic Circus families in America: the Fuentes Gasca family run one of the biggest chains of circus companies in the world. A versatile and multi-talented performer, Raul started working in the ring at a very young age, as is the custom among Circus families, learning several disciplines along the way. His hashtag #EPOINONDITECHENONVIAVEVOAVVISATO has become very popular amongst his followers.

Sergii Kabakov has been active in the international Circus world since 1987. He is currently General Director and Artistic Director of the Ukraine State Circus Company. He is President of the Board of Directors of state circus enterprises in Ukraine. He has been decorated in his country with honours for his prolific efforts to promote and sustain circus traditions and culture.

A seventh-generation artistic performer of his family, Sascha Köllner says that he carries the circus in his heart and in his blood. In love with the Circus ring from a very young age, Sascha performed across Europe for many years as an acrobat and horse trainer, an expert in dressage. He currently directs the Christmas Circus of Dresden, in Saxony, with his brothers. His talent and creative spirit, aimed at preserving the traditions of European Circus, shines through in every show he produces.

Elmar Kretz, who has always loved horses, grew up in Bavaria, where he originally worked in the hotel and restaurant industry, following in family tradition. But, after seeing a big German Circus in his home town, his life changed completely. Since his artistic début in 2001, Elmar Kretz has worked in many important circuses, and today he is Director of Ravensburger Christmas Circus, which he founded when he was only twenty-nine years old. It is one of Germany’s most popular Christmas shows, already seen by 850,000 people. During the last edition of the International Circus Festival of Italy, Elmar Kretz appeared with his liberty horses number, in which he interacted gently with Arabian, Andalusian, and Lipizzaner horses in a performance that was both technically seamless and artistically pleasing to audiences of all ages.

Agustín Maluenda Quezada, artiste, director, and professional clown, has an entertainment career that has lasted for 58 years: a real star in South America. He is the only clown to have been awarded the Copihue De Oro, a prestigious annual entertainment award in Chile. Still active in the Circus of his son, Pastelito de Chile, and of his grandson, Pastelito Jr, Agustín Maluenda Quezada is the clown Tachuela Chico for everyone: he performed as this character with his brother Joaquín in 2004, when they entertained Pope John Paul II. His popularity also stems from the many TV shows he has appeared in. Agustín Maluenda Quezada has, for several years, been a member of International Technical Juries in the most important circus events around the world.

Fulvio Medini, a member of a historical Italian Circus family along with his brothers Daniele and Bruno, is Director and Producer of Internazionale Happy Circus, one of Italy’s best-loved travelling shows. A perfect combination of deep-rooted traditions and modern innovations can be seen under the Big Top of Happy Circus. The cast features internationally famous performers who have already won prizes at Latina. Ruan Min is an international expert in Circus arts, live performance, and cultural projects, with consolidated experience in planning, producing and running festivals, shows and big events. He has held managerial roles in the entertainment sphere, and has taken part in important international festival and circus competitions as an expert and jury member. He is a member of the International Exchange Committee of the China Acrobatics Association and has taken part in forums and other initiatives dedicated to development and international cooperation within the circus arts sector. During his career he has contributed to the creating of 20 big themed cultural events and over 30 different projects, gaining significant experience in the management of projects, in artistic coordination, and in the international advancement of live performances.

Irina Naumenko has worked as an artist in the entertainment industry for over 25 years: during her long career as a performer, Irina has been able to broaden her horizons by direct contact with numerous companies around the world, including with Cirque du Soleil, where she worked as a hand balancer and contortionist in the productions Varekai 2003 – 2011 and Joya 2014 – 2016 as well as in special events. Following a successful career as a performer, Irina then went on to become a consultant in Cirque’s casting department. Showbiz, and in particular the circus, has always had a special place in Irina’s heart, and over the years she has gained valuable understanding of the business, of the creative process of putting on a show and of the demands of acrobatic performance; this allows her to fully appreciate the daily difficulties faced by circus performers, with whom she shares both vision and perspective.

Erdene Nergui is a central figure in the international circus panorama, chiefly known as President of the Mongolian Circus Production. A renowned producer and artistic director, Erdene Nergui promotes the excellence of Mongolian Circus with the Erdene Nergui Troupe, who specialise in acrobatics and contortionism. His shows have appeared in the most important venues around the world. Erdene Nergui presented a new production entitled World Circus of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar in April, coinciding with the 85 years of history of the Mongolian Circus, in a renovated permanent Circus and with a prestigious cast both in the ring and surrounding it.

Adans Peres, with his brother Ivan, has won all of the most prestigious international awards, combining strong athleticism with artistic talent and stage presence: the Peres brothers performed their hand to hand number as Duo Peres at the International Circus Festival of Latina in 2010, and went on to win a Clown d’Argent at the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival. As a manager and entrepreneur, Adans founded the Starlight Productions & Show Business agency, which has become an unrivalled point reference for the best circus performers from around the world, as well as being a Gold Partner of the recent 24th edition of the International Circus Festival of Italy.

Urs Pilz was born in Switzerland in 1941 and, on completing his schooling, he began a career in the world of fashion, later becoming Vice-President of the Bogner label. Interested in the world of the Circus for many years, Urs Pilz worked with the Circus Knie and in international relations at the Circus Krone in Munich. In 1981 he began his important association with the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival, first as a judge, and then as coordinator of the Jury, eventually becoming Artistic Director and Vice-President, a role which sees him as one of Her Serene Highness Princess Stéphanie of Monaco’s closest associates. He is also President of the two key Circus associations: Fédération Mondiale du Cirque and the European Circus Association.

Louisa Raluy Rastall, born in Italy, has half English and half Italian origins. She represents the fourth generation of a celebrated circus family. Winning a special award for 100 years of activity and heritage, The Legacy, directed by sisters Louisa and Kerry Raluy Rastal, is considered to be one of the most significant circuses in the world. Her efforts to maintain the essence of the golden days of Circus, which is represented alongside the latest performance trends, make Circo Raluy an original Circus and a real point of reference on the international scene. Raluy Legacy doesn’t end with shows, though: the charm of over 40 traditional caravans has made it one of the most important circus museums in the world; a voyage of history and innovation. She has worked all over the world with her circus, has directed a Festival in Spain, and has been a member of numerous International Technical Juries. Louisa speaks eight languages and has studied in the fields of psychology and journalism.

Frederico Reder is an internationally-famous artiste, entrepreneur, and director. He began his career as a stage actor at the age of 9, and later distinguished himself as a manager, director and impresario; in 2016 he created the genre of Doc musicals, an innovative format that unites theatre with audio-visual narratives. Founder of the award-winning Reder Circus, a national point of reference that has gained public favour with successful seasons and awards such as the Picadeiro and the Governor’s Award, Reder has also reached the milestone of managing 6 theatres and 4 circuses around the country at the same time. He was a judge for LIESA at the Rio de Janeiro Carnival and has been on the juries of important international circus festivals in the USA, Italy, Spain, Peru, Argentina, and Chile.

Aldo Vazquez, who grew up in the Circus, has vast experience across the board of production and logistics of Circus shows. At the moment, he heads a team of over 70 people, but he was a performer for thirty years, both as an acrobat and as an animal trainer. He is currently the Director of two units: Circo Vazquez USA and Circo FLIP USA. In both units he is responsible for the technical and logistical side as well as the artistic direction.
